From 156 Million Blogs To 1

Not Another Blog!

Early in 2011 there were apparently over 156 million blogs on the web! So why start another one? My answer is that

I could not find one that was just for people supporting people with brain injury.

and I really wanted to try this way of communicating and sharing.

No, I did not review all 156 million, so if you know of any sites that focus on providing information for people who work with people with brain injury, please leave a comment below or email me with a link, so we can share it. Meantime I will continue, well even if there are others, I hope to continue.

Let me explain a bit about what is planned.

My aim is to provide information on brain injury as simply as possible.

Who is it for?  My focus is on supporters.

I have often heard supporters describe difficulty finding the kind of  information they need, at the time they need it. I did a Google search on the term “brain injury” the result said ‘About 16,600,000 results’. Phew! So I narrowed it down to one aspect I frequently get asked about; Brain Injury and challenging behaviour ‘About 892,000 results’. No wonder we cannot find what we need when we want it.

How do you find what you need amongst 892,000 sites, let alone 16 million and growing? This is where this blog, Changed Lives New Journeys, comes in. I can do the work and give you the short version. Getting the information that is focused on your needs. You can help by telling me stuff that you need, don’t be shy send me an question in the comments on any post, or send me an email.

Through Changed Lives New Journeys I hope we can build a storehouse of knowledge to help you support people more effectively, and with greater understanding. I hope to find interesting presentations and recommend resources that you can absorb whenever you have time. These will be starting points to some of the complexities of brain injury, along with tips, tools and insights.

While brain injury is a serious and complex topic I hope we can find some fun and interesting presentations to help your learning. Over time you will have access to a growing library of resources and information, along with opportunity to comment, discuss and share information, keeping in mind the principles and conditions for contributing.
